Trips we offer
We have been spearfishing around the waters of Boavista for over 15 years. We know all the good spots for reef fishing leaving from Salrei and in the last 5 years have specialized in blue water spearfishing of big game fish.
We do this as a passion and hobby, so expect to be treated as friends on our trips and just have fun!
Blue water trips
Season: Mid June - November

Wahoo Blue water spearfishing Boavista, Cape Verde
We offer trips to a variety of underwater seamounts within one hour boat drive from Sal Rei. We plan the trip according to the tides to get max time in the water at the best time. A normal day out will be about 6 hours. We can take a maximum of two guests and material on our boat to make the trip comfortable, fast and safe.
We usually use a combination of flashers and bait to attract the fish.
Of course we cannot guarantee the fish are at the seamounts, but it is extremely rare we go home empty handed.

Reef Trips
Season: Mid June - November
There are many good reefs in the vicinity of Salrei. We get to all of them in less than half an hour boat ride. Usual reef depths are anything between 10 m and 18 m, but we can also go to shallower reefs. We leave early in the morning and come back mid afternoon.
A maximum of three guests (two is better) is what we like to take on the boat for reef trips.

Special Trip: Blue Water Spearfishing on Maio Island
Season: June - December

I have lived and spearfished alone on Maio Island Cape Verde, for 3 years in the past. There is arguably even more fish there than in Boavista, just due to its remoteness. Everything about Maio is majestic: the sea, the people, the island. In October to December big schools of Dorado migrate through the offshore banks while in May and June I have seen huge Marlins on the banks. However getting to and off the island is quite the mission and it takes a bit of logistics to set this trip up. This is more for the adventurous kind of soul!
